A summer in Lapland, just as a family would wish: being outdoors, growing together, experiencing real nature—far away from screens, appointments, and everyday stress.

Our outdoor family week at Storberg Fjällgård is an invitation to actively experience the nature of Swedish Lapland as a family — with guided activities, plenty of space for your own discoveries and genuine shared experiences.

During our outdoor family week, you will spend your week in the vastness and tranquility of northern Sweden – far away from traffic noise, hustle and bustle, and digital distractions at our Storberg Fjällgard wilderness lodge.
Instead, you can expect clear lakes, vast forests, reindeer and many potential adventures.

You are active outdoors — in a canoe, on foot, around a campfire — and experience nature not as a backdrop, but as a living space where you can create shared experiences as a family.

Children discover their surroundings with all their senses, while adults noticeably slow down and reconnect with nature. You will be accommodated in our rustic forest cabins or in one of our apartments. Our family week in Lapland is designed for families who enjoy nature, adventure and outdoor activities, but also value comfort and good food.

Daily schedule at a glance

Day 1 – Arrival

On the day of your arrival, we will pick you up from the airport if you are arriving by plane. After checking in, you will have time to settle in, explore your accommodation, and get comfortable. In the evening, we will meet around the campfire for a welcome session with all the important information about the week.

Day 2 – Ember burning, carving, and archery

A day dedicated to craftsmanship, concentration, and skill. In the morning, you will make your own wooden spoon – from raw wood to finished utility item.

You will learn:

✓ safe knife guidance
✓ basic carving techniques
✓ the traditional method of burning embers

In the afternoon follows archery – Playfully guided with a focus on posture, calmness, and goal orientation.

Day 3 – Treasure hunt in the forest

A real adventure for the whole family. Equipped with a treasure map you set off into the forest to find the “Treasure of Storberg” .
Along the way, you will encounter small missions, tasks, and puzzlesthat will bring you closer to your goal step by step.

You will learn:
✓ easy orientation in the terrain
✓ Reading clues and signs in nature
✓ to work together as a family

In the end, the treasure is recovered together – an experience that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Day 4 – Canoeing, fishing, and outdoor lunch

Today we're heading out onto the water. After a briefing, you will paddle across calm lakes with our guide and enjoy the vastness of the northern Swedish landscape. On the way, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at fishing. At lunchtime, we prepare an outdoor lunch right on the lake shore — simple, authentic and in a special atmosphere.

Day 5 – Making fire & building a forest camp

A day full of basic outdoor skills.

You will learn:

✓ Lighting fires with natural materials and fire steel
✓ Find and prepare suitable tinder
✓ create safe fire pits

Afterwards, you will work together to build a simple forest camp using branches, moss and natural materials.

Day 6 – Free family day

This day belongs entirely to you.

Use the time for your own activities:

✓ Hiking or fishing
✓ Time at the lake
✓ Enjoy the sauna
✓ Playing, readingPlaying, reading, or simply relaxing or simply relaxing

We are happy to give you individual recommendations for short tours in the surrounding area.

Day 7 – Departure

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. You begin your journey home — with many new impressions, shared memories and the feeling of having spent real time together as a family.
